Request Data Deletion – NeighbourGuard
Request deletion of your NeighbourGuard data without deleting your account
NeighbourGuard Customer App users can request deletion of certain personal information while keeping their NeighbourGuard account. Requests are reviewed in accordance with applicable law and the information needed to provide your residential security patrol service.
How to request deletion of specific data
- Email support@neighbourguard.ca with the subject Data Deletion Request.
- Send the request from the email address associated with your NeighbourGuard account where possible.
- Identify the data you want deleted, such as an outdated phone number, an old property address, a notification, or eligible historical account or patrol information. You can also ask what information is held about you before deciding.
- We may verify your identity and clarify your request before taking action. Never send your password or full payment card details.
- We will confirm what information has been deleted or anonymized and explain any information that must be kept.

Data that may be deleted or anonymized
Depending on your request and service needs, eligible information may include outdated contact details, former property details no longer needed for service, in-app notifications, and historical patrol reports or photographs that no longer need to be retained. Some information may instead need to be corrected or updated so your active patrol service can continue safely and accurately.
Data we may retain and for how long
We may retain information needed for an active security patrol subscription, identity and account security, financial and tax compliance, investigation of incidents, dispute resolution, or legal claims. This may include current service addresses, membership records, invoices and payment history, relevant patrol activity records, and correspondence concerning your request. Canadian accounting and tax records may need to be kept for six years or longer when applicable. Other retained records are kept only as long as necessary for the relevant legal, operational, or contractual purpose. Deleted data may persist temporarily in system backups until those backups expire under their normal retention cycle.
Processing time
We aim to review and complete eligible requests within 30 days after verifying your identity. If a request cannot be fulfilled in whole or in part, we will explain why and describe any applicable retention requirements.
Your account and subscription
Requesting deletion of specific data does not delete your NeighbourGuard account and does not automatically cancel or change your paid security patrol subscription. Some information is necessary to continue providing patrol services.
If you want to delete your entire app account instead, see Delete Your NeighbourGuard Account & Data. Read our Customer App Privacy Policy for more information.
